Officer Nominations
Elders are responsible to provide such services as the following:
- Instruction
- Encouragement
- Spiritual discipline
- Approve the church budget
- Outreach
- Missions
- Church ministries
Working together as a Session, the elders have the primary task of leading and equipping God’s people to do the work of the church. Elders may also be called upon to serve the Church at large, either at Presbytery or at the General Assembly level.
We are not taking nominations for the office of deacon this year. We intend to serve those with needs through the development of a church ministry team focusing on mercy ministry.
Qualifications:
“Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well, and see that his children obey him with respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap."
1 Timothy 3: 1-7
Suggested Candidates:
Prayerfully consider those candidates you believe meet the basic qualifications for the office of elder and have demonstrated leadership ability. Fill out this form and submit by April 3.
Persons named will be considered by the Nominations Committee, before they become a nominee.
Please do not inform those you have listed above that you have presented their names for consideration.
To have your recommendations considered you must be a member of Princeton Meadow Church.
