A Community Center

Located in the heart of West Windsor, our new facility is a great resource for our community. Community events such as Trunk or Treat, Children’s Craft Parties, Fall Festivals, concerts, ESL and other classes, provide the opportunity to serve our community by bringing people together in a family-friendly environment. Princeton Meadow ESL

Mercer County is part of  the global community. Between 2000 and 2006 the number of immigrants in Mercer County grew by 48 percent and students in Mercer County schools speak over 80 different languages! One of the greatest needs for our new neighbors from around the globe is an opportunity to improve their English. We offer classes in English as a Second Language (ESL) for adults in our community who would like to improve their conversational English and learn about American culture. English classes are held for ten weeks in the fall and spring and consist of a two-hour lesson on Monday night followed by a one-hour tutoring session with a volunteer on Thursday. The only requirement for volunteers is a willingness to help other people and a friendly smile! Local Missions
Part of our local outreach involves collecting needed supplies for various community organizations as a way of supporting what is already being done well in our community. Listed below are some of the organizations we help through our monthly Mercy Ministry Cabinet collections.

HOMEFRONT provides support for children and families who are homeless and have low incomes. PPC members fulfill Christmas wishes of children by purchasing new gifts for them. Homefront children have also participated in our seasonal craft parties.

CHOICE ONE is a local crisis pregnancy and sexual health center. PPC participates in their annual baby bottle campaign, where members fill baby bottles with spare change.

DRESS FOR SUCCESS provides career attire to low-income women seeking employment. PPC collects appropriate career clothing and shoes to donate to this ministry.

LAWRENCE NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE CENTER utilizes new or lightly used children’s books donated by PPC families to share with needy children.

MERCER FOOD BANK provides non-perishable foods to needy families; PPC collects canned goods to support their work.

TRENTON AREA SOUP KITCHEN (TASK) provides meals and services for needy individuals in Trenton. PPC contributes canned goods, Thanksgiving meal bags, coats & gloves, school supplies, eye glasses, and other supplies as needed to help them help others.

Diaconal Ministry
Once a month, PPC collects a second offering at Sunday services to benefit our church and community. Our deacons network with the community to identify families who are going through difficult times, and present gift cards to express our love and concern.

The vision of international missions at PPC is to align our outreach with the biblical model of evangelism that reaches from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. Central to our mission endeavors is a focus on church planting that influences the choice of international missionaries that we support and also forms the foundation of our ministry in Kenya.

Kenya Vision
The largest focus of PPC’s mission vision is directed toward Kenya. PPC’s passion to help Kenya was born through personal connections to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Nairobi and an orphanage outside the city.  PPC is providing finances to fund the Kenya Vision of building infrastructures including a church, hospital, dispensary, and school. Additionally, each month the Adult Sunday School supports a targeted need that provides life-changing help. Listed below are examples of the types of gifts we fund.

BIBLES
It only takes $5 to provide a bible to the Maasai in their native language. The Maasai annual income is only around $300, so these Bibles are a prized possession.

BICYCLES
Approximately $80 will purchase one bicycle. With bicycles, people in Kenya can become mobile to find better jobs, or use them for business transport. This form of transport is commonly used in slums to ferry people and luggage from the bus-stop to their homes, referred to as Boda Boda transport.

CHILDREN’S CAMP
A child’s life and Christian growth can be enhanced and changed by sending him/her to a Christian camp. The Evergreen Presbyterian Church sponsors a summer camp where children enjoy Bible lessons, crafts, and sports. It only takes $10 to sponsor a child for one week of summer camp.

MAASAI SEMINARY EDUCATION/SUPPLIES
PPC provides financial assistance to support theological education among the Maasai in order to train up ministry leaders. Our support can also be used to provide desks, bookshelves, chairs, etc. for classrooms.

MEDICAL SUPPLIES
Each year, more than 9 million children die worldwide from preventable diseases before their fifth birthday. Financial support can provide additional/replacement medical supplies to the health clinics, mosquito nets, and medicine.

MOPEDS
Traveling between villages in Kenya can be quite difficult as transportation is not abundant and the terrain is difficult. $900 will purchase a moped that can be given to a church planter to facilitate travel and make it possible to take care of the details in planting a new church as well as support the community of believers in this endeavor.

SEWING MACHINES
Approximately $100 will purchase one sewing machine. With sewing machines, people in Kenya can improve their quality of life, as well as the quality of life for others, by starting a business mending and making clothing.

Missionaries We Support
In addition to the Kenya Vision, we partner with a number of missionaries to extend our care throughout the world.

NEPAL
PPC partners with a local evangelist who shares the gospel in Western Nepal, particularly in rural areas. Leadership and discipleship training is needed to prepare emerging leaders and to send them to the new church planting locations.

SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA
PPC supports the work of HCJB to establish new Christian radio stations throughout Africa, relaying New Testament scriptures and building “listening clubs.”

THE ASIAN CRESCENT
The birth of churches in the Muslim world is part of the vision of Mission to the World (MTW), and PPC supports this ministry along with the training of future church leaders.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The world is at our footstep through the international students coming to Princeton University.  Through Bible studies, English partnership studies and other outreach events, this ministry seeks to share the gospel with international students, scholars, and their families, as well as strengthening the faith of those who already believe.

HUNGARY
English camps and teaching English in a high school in Budapest has provided an effective form of outreach through relationships with students and their families. Our missionaries there have had numerous opportunities to share their faith and deepen relationships, helping to build the Hungarian church there as well.

INDONESIA
PPC supports long-time missionaries to Indonesia who work with the Hatam tribe. After years of training leaders for the church there, the Hatam themselves desire to serve as missionaries to other tribes. Church planting, and training of leaders, therefore, is occurring at a number of levels.

AUSTRALIA
Part of the church planting effort in Australia includes organizing and training prospective members in the core tenets of the faith. In Perth, churchfreo, the name of a recent church-plant, is making a difference in the artistic community through the efforts of our missionaries there.
